The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.

We are currently seeking two Teaching Assistants to join our committed psychology team to provide a high quality student experience on all our programmes.

Psychology is the largest field in the School of Human and Social Sciences. It offers several BPS accredited undergraduate psychology pathways, as well as an MSc in Health Psychology. Research areas within the team span a wide range but are currently focused mainly on areas of health psychology, the cognitive and emotional impact of drug and alcohol use, and research in higher education. The department has eye tracking facilities, a bio physiology lab and testing cubicles for CANTAB, e-prime and Superlab.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to teaching on a broad range of modules at undergraduate level and to provide support to students in both theoretical and practical areas of Psychology. You will also support staff in undertaking duties necessary to the running of the Psychology programmes, this includes undertaking online and papers based marking at level 4 using Turnitin, as well as, helping to develop the undergraduate student’s academic progress.

Applicants must have a postgraduate qualification in Psychology (e.g. MSc, PhD) and be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society.  Candidates will need to demonstrate a mature attitude, be confident in their abilities to effectively communicate with groups of students, and be willing to take on various roles within the Psychology course.
