The College of Nursing Midwifery and Healthcare at the University of West London is a leading provider of midwifery education in London and the Thames Valley. Our approach to teaching and learning is student-centred and employability-focused, making use of an innovative curricula, simulation and having WHO/UNICEF Breastfeeding Initiative accreditation. We have one of the highest graduate employability rates in the UK and our student satisfaction has been 100% for 2016 and 2017 for midwifery and other CNMH courses.

Our Brentford campus is located in one of the prime commuter belts, served by excellent train, road and underground links.

Our Reading based campus is well served with good train and motorway links in the heart of the Thames Valley.

Contribute to the teaching, learning and assessment of pre and post registration midwifery students. Contribute to the teaching and learning of other pre-registration students within the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare Work in partnership with the course team, practice staff, students and service users to deliver high quality education within the university and practice,that is relevant to maternal health service users and their families. Contribute to the development of pre and post-registration midwifery courses and modules Undertake a link lecturer role in a maternity unit. Provide educational support for mentors. Undertake the role of Personal Tutor. Assist in the professional academic, research and scholarly profile of midwifery within the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Health care.

Participate in wider university activities relevant to the courses and their administration.

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ability to work within a team

An ability to use initiative and work to deadlines

Understanding of contemporary midwifery practice and policy

Ability to work collaboratively with a range of partners, including Trust, PCTs, Independent, Voluntary and Private sector.
