Description :

The University of West London (UWL) is ranked as the top modern university* in London, 8th modern university* in the UK and 56th university nationally by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.

Over 97% of our graduates are in employment or further study within six months of graduation** and they achieve the second highest starting salaries of all the London modern universities.

UWL has undergone a £150 million transformation and offers state-of-the-art facilities.

The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare(CNMH) is a major provider of education in London and Berkshire, delivering high quality, dynamic courses, using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods, at all academic levels (undergraduate to doctoral).

We partner with a large number of healthcare organisations in the private, voluntary and independent sector and NHS Trusts in both London and Berkshire.

CNMH have achieved Green ratings (highest rating) from Health Education England North West London for its entire pre-registration Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice and CPPD provision for the past 3 years. Find out more about our work https://www.uwl.ac.uk/academic-schools/nursing-midwifery

CNMH offers state-of-the-art simulation facilities in both its Brentford and Reading campuses (including high fidelity patient simulators) – learn more here https://www.uwl.ac.uk/academic-schools/nursing-midwifery/undergraduate-nursing/simulation-centre

As a Lecturer in Simulated Learning you will be lead on and/participate in/contribute to the delivery and continuing development and integration of simulated learning, within modules and/or courses (pre-registration and CPD), offered by the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare. This will encompass Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Health Promotion and Public Health, Nursing Associates and Assistant Practitioner courses.

As a member of the academic team, you will assist in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of CNMH. You will also support learners and mentors in clinical practice.

You will hold a first degree in Nursing or relevant healthcare subject, current registration with the NMC and ideally a teaching qualification (desirable).

You will have extensive clinical experience and experience of using simulation and debrief in either a University or clinical environment in the UK. You will have some prior experience of teaching, learning and assessment, together with the use of innovative and evidence-based approaches.

This is an exciting time to join our dynamic team, with the opportunity to actively contribute to the re-approval of our nursing portfolio against the new NMC (2018) Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses.
