Technical Services Manager - Material and Make (TS17-01)

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead a diverse team of professional Technical Staff across Material & Make covering a broad range of processes, activities and courses, including Plastics, Wood, Metal,Ceramics, Surface Decoration, Print and Fashion at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels.

A proven track record in leadership and management is essential as is the ability to liaise with colleagues from a range of disciplines and backgrounds. We are seeking an individual with a passion for education, innovation and the desire to impact curriculum design and delivery by engaging with new technologies and processes.

You will have previous experience in the management of specialist, creative Art & Design facilities with knowledge of the relevant Health and Safety legislation to ensure that good practice is implemented and that the University remains legally compliant, at the same time sharing and promoting best practice with other teams.

Experience in forecasting and management of budgets and capital investment projects in accordance with Financial Regulations is a requirement of the role.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage with colleagues from across the Universityand work as a management team to deliver strategic objectives of Technical Services.
