The School of English is seeking to appoint a part-time Assistant Professor in Second Language Acquisition (teaching focussed) to provide cover for a member of staff on Leverhulme funded leave.

The successful candidate will undertake teaching in the areas of second language acquisition and teaching English as a foreign language and related topics in the School of English, and will contribute more widely to the School’s teaching activities. Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area of English language or applied linguistics.A proven track record of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on live and distance programmes is essential, covering some (preferably more than one) of the following topics: second language acquisition, second language teaching, teaching vocabulary in a second language, teaching English as a foreign language, and applied linguistics research methods. 

This position is part time (18 hours per week), fixed term from the 1 September 2018 to 30 June 2019.

The interview process will include a presentation of teaching and a formal interview.
