The Wessex Institute is part of the University of Southampton (ranked top 1% in the world). Handling contracts including the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) we manage and maximise the impact of ground-breaking medical research programmes, influencing the future of healthcare delivery across the UK and medicine worldwide.

We are looking for an Assistant Communications Managers to join our Communications team, part of the Public Involvement and External Engagement (PIEE) team. The post is available on a 0.6fte 12 month fixed term contract basis. 

Interviews are likely to be held during w/c 9th July 2018. 

The post would suit someone who is naturally well organised, enjoys working as part of a busy and varied team, has a flexible approach to work and is able to demonstrate initiative.  You should be qualified to at least A Level (or equivalent) and have excellent written and oral communication skills, a creative and innovative approach to work, and the ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues of all levels across Wessex Institute and with external stakeholders. Ideally, you will have a knowledge of digital communications and experience of working on campaigns using website and social media channels would be desirable. Strong team-working skills are essential and you will join an enthusiastic and supportive team.
