Education Outreach Internship (SESAR1156)

Are you currently studying (2nd or penultimate year) at the University of Leeds, with an interest in Education Outreach? Would you like to gain valuable experience in working in a department which promotes university to students?

The Education Outreach team work closely with schools and colleges to inspire students and raise aspirations towards higher education.  The team works closely with hundreds of schools and colleges every year, providing generic and subject specific higher education outreach at all stages of the student journey, both on and off campus.  We have a comprehensive and sustained programme of activity for prospective students and staff involved in supporting young learners with higher education progression. 

Working as part of the Education Outreach team, but also part of a wider team of staff across the University, you will represent the University of Leeds at Higher Education Conventions and school and college events to ensure that learners, teachers, careers advisers and parents understand the benefits of studying at the University of Leeds, our courses and the progression routes available. 

Part of our work involves promoting the University and our activities, this includes the development and use of print and electronic media.  We are also increasing our presence on social media and this role will be crucial for enhancing our activity in this area.  We evaluate all of our work to understand how and where we can make improvements and this role will also support this work for the team.
 
The internship combines co-ordinating and delivering Education Outreach activities (Higher Education Experience Days, Higher Education Conventions, presentations, workshops and teacher focused events) and enhancing our social media presence and supporting the review and evaluation of our work.
