Technician Instructor (Internal Only) (SM6035-18-338)

In this role you will provide technical support for teaching, research activities, laboratory and workshop training sessions and will provide support for 3D design teaching and running tutorial sessions in computer aided design. 

You will be part of a team of technical staff providing a wide range of specialist activities covering disciplines such as Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical engineering, making for a very diverse and interesting role with the opportunity to learn new disciplines. You will provide a 3D printing service, advising staff and students on the most appropriate application for their product requirements. 

As well as traditional manufacturing methods we have a CNC laser cutter for cutting plastic and wood  up to 20mm material thickness. Most members of the technical team have their own areas of responsibility, this is usually based around their specialist area/skill set. You will also assist in the day to day maintenance of laboratory equipment including duties such as Portable Appliance Testing.

Training will be provided where necessary. Job sharers welcome.
