The School of Sport and Exercise Science is located within the College of Social Science. The School was established in 2006 and delivers multidisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has an emerging group of highly successful post graduate research students. 

The School and University are performing well within the UK. In the Guardian University Guide 2019 the School was placed 16th out of 76 Universities. The developing research strategy within the School led to its first successful Research Excellence Framework result in 2014. In addition the University is proud to have been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework in 2017. Priorities within the School are teaching, research and enterprise. School facilities include a specialist Human Performance Centre with state-of-the-art equipment and the use of a well-equipped sport centre when delivering practical curriculum activities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School to appoint a Sport and Exercise Psychologist within the School and this appointment will be at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer depending upon experience. The successful candidate will join a team committed to providing excellent teaching to prepare students for employment, alongside developing their research profile. The appointed person will be adaptable and innovative and have excellent communication skills and have the capability of expanding partnerships and contributing to the generation of external income through research income or enterprise.
