Description :

Applications are invited for a fixed term (until 31/7/19) research fellowship in association with Dr Elselijn Kingma’s ERC-funded research project ‘Better Understanding the Metaphysics of Pregnancy’: http://www.southampton.ac.uk/philosophy/research/projects/bump.page. The post-holder will be expected to devote the majority of their time to the research project, and teach the equivalent of one course per year.

The successful candidate will have excellent research skills and the ability to carry out a programme of research that falls within the scope of the proposed research project. There is a defeasible preference for an AOS in philosophy of biology/the life-sciences or metaphysics (including feminist metaphysics), but any candidate who can make a case for their background and/or envisioned research contributing to the project will be given full consideration, and is warmly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area by the date of appointment.

Applicants are advised to read the short and long versions of the present project proposal, available at the bottom of the research project page: http://www.southampton.ac.uk/philosophy/research/projects/bump.page

You should submit your completed online application form at www.jobs.soton.ac.uk. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above. If you need any assistance, please call Matt Saxby (Recruitment Team) on +44 (0) 23 8059 3462. Please quote reference 1024218F4 on all correspondence.
