The School of Engineering and Computer Science (SoECS) at the University of Hull is recruiting a Senior Lecturer or a Lecturer in Chemical Engineering. 

The School delivers MEng/BEng and BSc programmes in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering and Computer Science and has a long history of accreditation through IET, IMechE, IChemE and BCS.  As an integrated School, staff and students benefit from shared facilities, complemented by strong links between Chemical Engineering and the internationally recognised Chemistry Department. Supported by significant investment the School has a growth plan to double in size over the next 5 – 10 years. The University was awarded Silver status under the recent Teaching Evaluation Framework.

Applicants will be expected to contribute to teaching across the Chemical Engineering syllabus. With a PhD, or equivalent, in chemical engineering or a related discipline, applicants will be expected to conduct research of international standing to complement and strengthen existing research activities within the Chemical Engineering discipline in the School of Engineering and Computer Science.

Teaching or research experience in one or more of the following areas would be particularly attractive:

Process control and instrumentationChemical process plant simulation and modellingProcess safety and environment protectionBio-based materials and biofuelsRenewable/sustainable energy systems

Industrial experience and eligibility for membership of the IChemE or other Professional Engineering Institution with Chartered Engineer status would be an asset.

Please submit a CV with a list of publications, together with a research plan. The research plan should include funding strategy, publication plan and research agenda for the next five years.
