Central Distribution Manager (051818)

We are currently seeking an experienced Central Distribution Manager to join our thriving Estates department.   The Central Distribution Manager oversees the day-to-day service provision of the University’s Central Distribution area. Through the provision of this service, the post holder actively contributes to the effective operation of individuals within their roles and the wider University, through ensuring a professional, reliable and cost effective post and distribution service.   The successful candidate will provide leadership and management to all staff within the Central Distribution area, including effective guidance, training and supervision. The post holder will carry out risk assessments and maintain appropriate records covering the Central Distribution area, including the yard management and safe use of the area by drivers of delivery and recycling vehicles.   Strong communication skills are essential for this role as the post holder will act as the principal communication link between Central Distribution and numerous internal departments, external suppliers, staff and students. The post holder will ensure that robust processes and procedures are in place and are reviewed and updated as appropriate to meet the needs of a changing environment.   Knowledge of and adherence to University Policies, financial regulations and the relevant Health and safety legislation is a key requirement of this role.   In addition to salary you will receive a generous annual leave entitlement and excellent development opportunities.
