The School is now seeking to appoint a Chaired Professor who will serve as the Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting. The Department has core research strengths in corporate finance, accounting, corporate governance and related areas. Members of the Department have published in leading journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Accounting and Economics and many others, as well as in journals at the interface between finance, economics, industrial relations and international business. Furthermore, the Department is responsible for important programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Building upon strong growth in recent years, the School is looking for a Chair who is capable and enthusiastic to provide energetic and committed leadership and to support the Department’s future development.  The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an outstanding track record of publications in world-leading international journals levels in areas related to the expertise of the Department, with the ability to engage with both internal and external constituencies, such as industry partners and research funding organisations, amongst others. Likewise, the Department Head will show a real commitment to the quality of teaching and learning, and to continuing the development of our portfolio of programmes in the area of finance and accounting. S/he will have strong people management skills, serve as a member of the School’s Senior Management Team, and help to shape the School’s future direction and development
