We seek two full-time HPC Systems Administrators to join the Research Computing Services team within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The role offers an opportunity to develop your IT career within a complex and dynamic scientific computing environment, which increasingly relies on HPC and supporting services for their research. You will be part of a close-knit and experienced team and will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of research systems including HPC, large-scale storage and video capture. You will be responsible for the development and system administration of research IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on HPC, high capacity storage, Cloud (both on-premise and Public) and any future systems. The post holder will play an active role in the provisioning, installation and configuration, operation and maintenance of specialist scientific computing infrastructure as well as providing technical support and training to users. An excellent working knowledge of Ubuntu and Redhat Linux systems is essential, along with experience in HPC, scheduling systems, storage, software building and complex research computing environments. Experience of working in a computational environment would be an advantage. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, be a strong team player and be able to work under your own initiative in a busy environment.
