The School of Literature and Languages is seeking to appoint a 0.5 FTE Teaching Fellow to teach on its English Literature programme. This will be a 10-month fixed-term post. The successful candidate will be required to teach on a range of modules at undergraduate level, primarily in the area of twentieth-century and contemporary American fiction.
The School of Literature and Languages is a vibrant and innovative School with an international research and teaching portfolio in English Literature and Creative Writing, Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting Studies, Modern Languages, Film and Intercultural Communication. English Literature at Surrey is in the top ten in the Times Good University Guide and Guardian University Guide 2017.
We are looking for candidates with a completed PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area, experience of university teaching in a related area. The successful candidate is likely to be a specialist in modern or contemporary American writing, with particular interests in literary theory and genre. Candidates will also demonstrate an active research profile.
