An opportunity has become available to join our Maintenance team within the Estates and Facilities Management Department. The post holder will be part of the electrical team within operational services which is one department within Estates & Facilities Management. Operational services provide the University with an effective reactive and planned maintenance service. This department has three sub-divisions which consist of the building team, electrical team and mechanical team.

Working as part of a team responsible for the electrical maintenance of the University premises, you will be required to undertake planned and reactive maintenance work to support the University’s electrical systems, ensuring premises are maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.

The post holder will largely respond to a wide range of frequently occurring routine maintenance problems, requiring the use of their expertise and skills to provide the most appropriate trade solution.  However, there may be occasions where they are required to deal with more complex or unusual problems, requiring a higher level of skill and greater judgement.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role, which may include broader sector/commercial awareness is essential for this post.
