The post holder will be responsible for the financial administration of a portfolio of research grants and contracts and will provide financial advice and information to Principal Investigators (PIs) in the management of their awards and contracts.   They will also be responsible for the production of all management information, data and analysis required to support the University’s budgeting, planning and forecasting processes in respect of the grants and awards in his/her portfolio.   The post-holder will represent the University in dealings with external sponsors including production of claims and periodic reporting and will co-ordinate any audit requirements arising from grants under their administration. The role requires engagement with PIs, Business Finance Managers, University management and other finance/administrative staff in the provision of advice and guidance around the management of individual grants and the financial impact of the performance of awards in the portfolio.   The University of Surrey is amongst the highest achieving universities in the United Kingdom, having been awarded the Times/ Sunday Times University of the Year Award for 2016.
