Bring your experience of working as a theatre technician and active interest in the arts to work as a key member of the Galleries and Theatre team in our Sallis Benney Theatre, a theatrical space used for film, music theatre and teaching projects both within the university and for external hire in the heart of the vibrant city of Brighton

Working in conjunction with our team of Event Supervisors and the Senior Theatre Technician, you will provide specialist technical support for projects ranging from theatrical productions to conferences and teaching and play an active role in the efficient running and management of the theatre.

To succeed in the role, you will need experience in supporting formal arts or theatre events including hands on rigging experience, technical problem solving and maintenance.  A range of sound, projection and lighting skills are also essential, as is experience of supervising a team of technical staff.  

This is a challenging and varied role which will require the ability to communicate effectively with all theatre users and a willingness to work flexibly across the team.  The role requires some extended, unsociable or irregular hours depending on the events taking place for which time off lieu will be given.
