The Hull York Medical School is seeking to appoint a high-calibre researcher and educationalist in medical/health professions education, to contribute to our newly established Health Professions Education Unit. The role is available at lecturer or senior lecturer level. The post holder will be responsible for teaching and module leadership across the Health Professions Education Unit postgraduate programmes. This will include the Masters, Diploma and Certificate in Health Professions Education, Clinical tutor training programmes, as well as the MBBS and Physicians Associate programmes. The role will involve the supervision of postgraduate research students and medical students undertaking research placements. In addition, the post holder will conduct research in accordance with the main themes of the unit’s activity. This position is to support the Director of Health Professions Education Unit in conducting and supporting research and scholarship across the School’s portfolio of programmes.

PhD in relevant field of studyPostgraduate teaching qualification and Fellowship of the Higher Education AcademySpecialist knowledge in medical/health professions educationAbility to undertake high-quality research and publish in leading, peer-reviewed journalsAbility to define, lead, manage and attract funds for research, operating across disciplinary boundariesExperience of and commitment to teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levelExperience of teaching on face-to-face, blended and distance learning programmesDemonstrable capacity for creative thinking and planningSubstantial recent publication record in leading peer-reviewed journalEvidence of national and/or international collaboration
