The University of Nottingham is a leading research intensive university helping to transform lives and change the world. The University has earned a reputation for its commitment to sustainability and has won several awards for its achievement in energy and carbon management. 

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced individual to lead the development of the University’s energy management. Managing a team and working across the Estate Office you will be responsible for a £12m utility budget and one of the largest building management systems in the UK. You’ll be working across all our UK campuses and be involved in the University’s extensive capital build programme. Your challenge is to help us continue to reduce energy and water consumption across our estate and help us achieve our carbon reduction targets. 

Main responsibilities for the role are outlined in the attached Job Role Profile but include:

Utility Management

Renewable energy development

Development of the building management system

Energy and water efficiency projects

Reporting performance and Compliance

The successful candidate will be professionally qualified or hold a relevant degree and have significant experience in a similar role or have a proven track record of relevant extensive work experience within a similar role and have proven management skills.

This is a full time, permanent position. Hours of work are 36.25 per week. Job share arrangements may be considered.
