The School of Education at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus invite formal applications for appointment of Assistant/Associate Professor in the School of Education (with specialisation in TESOL or General Education desirable)

The role holder will be expected to make a significant contribution to the work of the School’s General Education and TESOL programmes, and to scholarship in those two areas.

Job Responsibilities

Play a leading management role, teaching undergraduate and Masters modules related to General, TESOL and a contribution to the school’s PhD programme.Supervise undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research projects/studies, and interfacing with local, national and international organizations.Conduct an active research agenda in the field of general education and TESOL, and be involved in the administration of programmes and other academic related roles.Participate in the development of strategic directions for the School within the context of the Faculty and University's planning framework and the University's overarching strategiesAssist the Head of School in the development, implementation and monitoring of progress of the School Strategic PlanCo-ordinate the implementation, at School level, of the University's Learning and Teaching, Research, and Engagement PlansDevelop and undertake the monitoring and enhancement of quality assurance procedures for foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programmesProviding academic leadershipSupporting the Head of School in new initiatives 

Job Requirements

Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in Education or TESOL. Candidates must also have teaching experience or engagement with special/high needs, inclusive schools and/or diverse learners. Applicants must show potential for developing, or have earned, a strong scholarly record as well as commitment to teaching and service. High level of English verbal and written communication proficiency is required.Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experiences in higher education; faculty management; familiarity with online teaching tools; and experience or potential to work collaboratively and across disciplines.
