Applications are invited for the above post based at The Division of Medical Sciences and Graduate Entry Medicine. This Division is part of the University Of Nottingham School Of Medicine based at the Royal Derby Hospital Centre. The person appointed will have specific responsibility for contributing to innovative delivery of teaching of a range of topics, primarily in the biomedical disciplines across our 3 programmes: Graduate Entry Medicine, Foundation for Medicine and BSc in Medical Physiology and Therapeutics while developing their teaching skills. A crucial part of the role will be to foster innovative teaching practice in the Division by engaging with the wider University and external sources to identify and share best practice in the area of teaching technology and digital learning. The person appointed will develop skills in established and emerging teaching technologies and support colleagues to incorporate them in their own practice. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing digital learning support materials for biomedical disciplines and developing expertise in learning technologies and methodologies, disseminating these, and supporting colleagues in establishing these methods in their own teaching. They will deliver teaching within the 3 educational programmes in the broad area of biomedical sciences, identifying the learning needs of students and defining appropriate learning objectives. They will further develop their teaching and learning skills and knowledge of teaching methods and techniques by reflecting on practice and developmental activities. They will be supported to work towards an appropriate Higher Education teaching qualification. 

Candidates must have a Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area (or the equivalent in professional qualifications) and experience and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. They must have the ability to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation and creativity in an education setting as well as the ability to creatively apply relevant approaches, including teaching technologies and digital learning to support teaching and learning. They must have the drive to develop further skills in teaching methods and techniques. The successful candidate will appreciate the level of learning in BSc Degree programmes and have experience of teaching or demonstrating to students on similar educational programmes. Previous practical experience of applying the teaching skills and techniques relevant to this role (i.e. innovative teaching technologies) is preferred. 

This position is fixed-term for 1 year. It is part time for 29 hours per week for 4 days per week (days to be agreed with the successful candidate).
