Clinical Associate Professor in Clinical Immunology (MED181718)

Applications are invited to the above role to make a significant contribution to research and leadership in the Academic Research Division and teaching in the area of Clinical Immunology. 

The role holder will participate in the organisation, management and strategic planning in the Academic Research Division of Infections, Immunity & Microbes and will also contribute to the School and University's strategic planning processes. They will act as principal investigator on major research projects in the broad area of immunity and infectious agents in health and disease. 

An interest or experience in animal models of infectious disease would also be desirable. 

The role holder will provide leadership and contribute tothe teaching of Clinical Immunology (part of the pre-clinical undergraduate medicine course) and will be expected to maintain high teaching standards. The role holder will contribute generally to the development of teaching and assessments in Clinical Immunology. The role holder will also contribute to postgraduate courses.

The post provides an exciting opportunity for the further development and expansion of your research programme and excellent opportunities for developing collaborative links with centres of excellence within the Faculty and University, as well as nationally and internationally alongside facilitating links with clinical colleagues across acute and community based services. The role holder may have line management responsibilities and contribute to the professional development and mentoring of some members of the Infections, Immunity & Microbes research division, and contribute to the overall administration of the School. 

Candidates must hold a PhD/MD or equivalent in a relevant subject area, as well as holding full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.  

Applicants that are UK trained, must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by the date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.  

This is a full-time permanent role, which can also be offered on a part time basis (minimum of 0.6 FTE). Please state the hours that you can work in your application.
