Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Development Economics (MS5991)

The Department of Social and Policy Sciences invites applications for a post at the level of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in development economics at the University of Bath. The department is a world class centre for international development research and teaching excellence, committed to interdisciplinary, impactful and progressive research. 

The successful candidate will have a developing track record of independent and impactful research of international standing. The appointee will be expected to publish in top rated journals, sustain a leading research programme, and be active in submitting applications for external funding. The candidate must also have a strong interest in pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and in supervising graduate students. 

We are looking to recruit a development economist with excellent quantitative research skills, committed to interdisciplinarity, and able to forge a research track record and future agenda that enhances the department’s research strengths in international development. We are open to any specialist field in development economics including political economy with reference to the Global South; inequality in national and global contexts; climate change and the environment.
