Postdoctoral Researchers in Computational Studies of New Materials for Lithium Batteries

Two EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research positions are available to carry out computational studies of new materials for lithium batteries within the materials chemistry group of Professor Saiful Islam at the University of Bath.

The research projects will apply advanced computational techniques (both DFT and potentials-based methods) in the study of defect, electronic, ion diffusion and surface properties of oxide and sulphide materials for battery electrodes and solid electrolytes. This work forms part of an EPSRC Programme Grant on Next-Generation Batteries with strong links with collaborative experimental studies of Prof Peter Bruce (Oxford) and Prof Clare Grey (Cambridge).

Previous experience in computational materials science and a track record of peer-reviewed publications are essential.

These posts are available as soon as possible, and are fixed term positions up to October 2020.

For information on the research group please visit the web site: http://people.bath.ac.uk/msi20.  For informal enquiries about the position please contact: Prof M. Saiful Islam, email: m.s.islam@bath.ac.uk.

Applications are submitted through the University of Bath online application form.
