Insiprational applicants are sought for an open-ended, full-time Lecturer (Assistant Professor) post in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Bath, UK. This is integral to the successful operation and development of Chemical Engineering at Bath. The post is in the ‘biological’ space of modern Chemical Engineering, including biotechnology and biochemical / biomedical / bioprocess engineering.

You will be a highly ambitious PhD graduate, with a good first degree in Chemical Engineering or a very closely related discipline. You will have a growing publications record and international reputation appropriate to your career stage, and be able to make significant and sustained scholarly contributions to the Department based on research excellence and integrity that fit mainly in the Centre for Integrated Bioprocess Research that is being established in the Department. Potential for winning and delivering on research grants – including those with industrial relevance and impact – and successful supervision of research students and staff, is expected. Capability and willingness to teach Chemical Engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (including in design), and to contribute to academic management and leadership, are also expected.

This outline will focus on research (including funding sources), but should also cover teaching. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet staff and students, tour the Department and University, give an oral presentation to staff and research students, and attend a formal face-to-face interview on 11 September 2018.
