An opportunity has arisen in the School of Creative Arts and Engineering, for a full time Lecturer in International Relations, who has specialist knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Security Studies; Strategic Studies; Conflict Analysis; or Intelligence. Having an area expertise, like Russian Studies in this context would be an advantage.

You will join a team of History/Politics lecturers who are engaged in delivering courses in Modern and International History, Intelligence and International Relations and Masters programmes in International Relations and International Policy and Diplomacy, through both face-to-face teaching and online distance learning.  

You will possess a good undergraduate honours degree in a related subject and a PhD in a cognate discipline, together with good publication potential.  You will have experience of teaching and learning in Higher Education, including support through VLE’s.  You will have experience of or show willingness to take part in the range of the team’s activities, including recruitment, outreach and maintenance of the team’s social media profile. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, be a good team player and be flexible and adaptable to change.
