Description :

The electrification of the transport sector is a critical step in achieving a low carbon future. This will pose new challenges for the energy sector, and create new opportunities for a more flexible energy system. This research will take a business model innovation approach to understand how utility companies, vehicles manufacturers, and infrastructure providers create new business processes around vehicle to grid services. It will explore how business strategies and technology co-evolve to capture new values in the energy transition.

We seek to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher to participate in a £2.4m Innovate UK funded project on vehicle to grid business models.

The researcher will join a consortium comprising established UK and Global companies to define an assessment framework, undertake business model innovation analysis, and manage an external communications programme. They will also produce high quality academic contributions to the field of sustainability transitions and business model innovation. This role would suit an individual with an interest in both the energy sector and business model/organisational change.
