We are seeking to appoint a Learning Developer (Mathematics and Statistics) to join our team at Lancaster University on a fixed term basis for 12 months. Lancaster enjoys a top-ten ranking in the UK University league tables, was awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework exercise and is currently University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. 

You will be responsible for overseeing maths and statistics support for undergraduate students in Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). You will work under the guidance of the Coordinator for Maths and Statistics Learning Development, delivering workshops and one-to-one advice, overseeing the daily running of the Maths and Statistics Helpdesk and developing a new module to meet the needs of students entering LUMS without an ‘A’ level qualification in Maths. You will be a member of a team of eight Learning Developers, managed from the Library.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a postgraduate qualification, substantial experience of teaching maths and statistics in higher education and preferably a teaching qualification. You will have knowledge of the maths challenges facing first year undergraduate students and be able to respond flexibly to evolving student needs. You will be able be able to demonstrate evidence of working in a collegiate and supportive way with colleagues and students from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds.
