We are looking for an Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics to deliver high quality teaching and undertake original research of international excellence in a branch of Applied Mathematics complementing existing activity within the School. Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Scientific Computation, Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and Uncertainty Quantification.

You will be able to carry out duties to the highest standard and to evidence how, through your experience, you will:

Plan and deliver high quality teaching on undergraduate and MSc Applied Mathematics modulesProvide curriculum development within own area of expertise and collaborate with colleagues to design course modules and/or programmesDevelop research proposals to attract funding from Research Councils, Industry, EU, and other sourcesHave a proven track-record in publishing research work of international quality in Applied Mathematics Contribute to the dissemination of research outputs at national/international conferences, workshops, and meetings

We are looking for a proactive, organised researcher who can evidence:

A PhD, or equivalent in applied mathematics or a relevant branch of mathematicsExcellent communication and organisational skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural teamNetworking, actively engaging with and valuing other areas and diverse groups

This is a permanent post which is due to start on 1 January 2019 and is full-time (36.25 hours per week) however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post.
