The Veterinary Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacy group at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University is seeking a postdoctoral research associate, whose primary task will be to develop, refine and apply mathematical models of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of veterinary medicines in different animal species. Such models are playing an increasingly important role in drug development and dosage optimisation, thereby minimising the number of animals used in clinical trials, increasing the chances of successful drug development and improving treatment outcomes in patients.
The emphasis will be on physiologically based pharmacokinetic (and pharmacodynamic) modelling to identify key variables that explain intra- an interspecies differences in therapeutic response.
