The successful candidate will join the discipline of surgery and orthopaedics of the Department of Equine Sciences The discipline actually consists of five European specialists, one resident, five technicians, two part-time farriers, and one intern (out of a group of five people, rotating over all disciplines within the Department). Together, we are responsible for examining and treating more than 1,200 horses per year for a range of conditions that span the entire field of equine surgery and orthopaedics. Your major tasks as the new specialist will be to participate in clinical duties and associate teaching (students, interns and resident training), but you may also be involved in theoretical teaching and/or research. Part of your responsibility will be to participate in out-of-hours duties (approximately following a five-in-one schedule).
