We wish to appoint a lecturer or senior lecturer in geology with a specialisation in sedimentology/stratigraphy. Ideally you will have a PhD in in a relevant subject area with an emphasis on field based research, although we welcome applications from strong candidates from any area of sedimentary geology, stratigraphy or palaeontology. You should have a strong research profile (consistent with career stage) and evidence of the potential to develop an externally funded research programme. 

The successful candidate will join the applied geosciences research group: (https://www.brighton.ac.uk/research-and-enterprise/research/life-health-and-physical-sciences/research-groups/applied-geosciences/index.aspx), which includes past and present sediment dynamics, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the Aquatic Research Centre – a University of Brighton Centre of Research Excellence. 

You will contribute to teaching in general geology and aspects of basin analysis and palaeontology on our BSc (Hons) Geology, BSc (Hons) Physical Geography and Geology and BSc (Hons) Earth and Ocean Science courses. You will also contribute to teaching on residential field courses within the UK as well as internationally.
