The School of Law and Criminology, of which the fields of law and criminology are part, is seeking a Senior Lecturer with responsibility for heading the Legal Practice Course. The course has been running for nearly 20 years with a small but committed team of legal practitioners.  We are committed to active teaching methods, high standards and the personal and professional development of our students.

The post holder will be expected to undertake course leadership for the full time and part time LPC course; this will include liaison with external examiners on the LPC; and act as the School’s link with professional bodies such as SRA, Law Society, Bar, CILEX, and other relevant legal regulatory, accrediting and professional bodies.  They will also need to undertake a teaching role and any associated activities such as preparation and marking assessments for modules taught or for which the post holder has responsibility.  It is envisaged that teaching will count towards a third of the workload.

Applicants must hold a professional qualification in law, have legal practice experience in a relevant area of law and also hold a recognised teaching qualification for Higher Education. For successful applicants without relevant teaching qualifications then they will join the UWL Academic Professional degree apprenticeship scheme supporting the UK government’s commitment to up skill the UK workforce.
