This is an opportunity for you to make a valuable contribution to the highly ranked Department of Sociology at Lancaster University.

Sociology is a large department with around 70 staff covering a mix of disciplinary areas (Gender and Women’s Studies, Media and Cultural Studies, Social Work and Sociology) at undergraduate and postgraduate level. We have a vibrant PhD community of over 80 students.

You will work closely with members of academic staff, taking responsibility for the administration of the department’s postgraduate taught Master’s and research degrees. Including maintaining records, monitoring attendance, processing assessments and providing administrative support for postgraduate admissions, recruitment and conversion activities within the department. You will provide a first point of contact for both Postgraduate students and applicants.

You should have experience of working in an administrative role, preferably in a Higher Education institution and experience of communicating effectively with a wide range of people.

This is a full time, indefinite post.
