Project Manager (A2373)

Research Services is part of the University’s Research and Enterprise Services Division. It provides expert advice, guidance and administrative support to Lancaster’s research community in the development of bids for externally funded research and the administration of successfully awarded grants. The team provides a range of research support activities at both pre- and post-award including advice on funders’ terms and conditions, proposal preparation, costing and pricing, research integrity and ethics, post-award grant administration for research grants and contracts from a diverse range of researcher funders.

We are currently seeking to recruit a self-motivated, initiative taking individual to join the team for 6 months as a fixed-term Project Manager. The individual will work closely with the Research Support and Systems Manager to lead on a number of projects to improve processes within Research Services and for colleagues across the university.

You should have experience of managing projects within a higher education or research organisation supporting a diverse range of stakeholders. You must be able to demonstrate your aptitude for solving problems with innovative approaches and have excellent IT skills with a passion for process improvement. Other essential skills include excellent communication skills, an ability to build successful working relationships, and experience of providing training. Knowledge of research integrity and experience in a research support or IT systems related role are desirable.

As the position is fixed-term for 6 months, candidates could consider a secondment from their current role. Candidates wishing for a secondment should gain the approval of their current line manager before applying.
