The Digital Services department in which this role is based is responsible for the University’s overall use of digital technology to achieve strategic aims of the organisation. The team are embarking on an ambitious portfolio of change to support our ‘Connected University’ strategy, focused on teaching & learning and the student experience.  Our people are key to its success, so we want to hear from dynamic, highly competent, customer focused IT/digital professionals that relish the opportunity to be part of our Digital Services team and play a key role in delivering our ambitious plans.

You will be joining an ambitious and inspirational team where you will be fully trained on all aspects of the role. The team delivers an exciting portfolio of Digital Projects which include the very first E-sports award in HE, MyStaffsUni mobile application developments, the delivery of the digital coach for students and various other exciting bespoke application developments. 

Reporting into the Head of Digital Transformation your primary focus as an Associate Project Manager is to safely execute small-scale projects, or sub-projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Working in small teams and working with stakeholders from across the University you will be preparing plans, tracking activities against project schedule, monitoring costs, timescales and resources, and taking action where required. 

The role will also be involved in important student-facing activity such as clearing, welcome week, graduation and exam invigilation enhancing with digital capability where possible and ensuring a great experience for our students on their learning journey.

Digital Services consists of three core functions as follows:

Architecture Management (responsible for identifying and selecting digital capabilities for the university)Digital Projects (responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of digital capabilities for the university)

Service Delivery (responsible for developing, managing and maintaining all live, operational technology for the university
