The appointee will be expected to undertake duties in live sound, audio and video recording, as well as general audiovisual support for students, staff and high-profile external clients.  This is an exciting time to join Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, which has recently moved to a new £57 million purpose-built building, home to a wide range of state of the art performance spaces, recording studios, labs and other technical facilities. Described as ‘the first digital conservatoire of the 21st century’, our digital infrastructure affords staff and student unprecedented opportunity for creative work and collaborative experimentation. Audiovisual and production technology is at the heart of The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire vision. The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Technician will be required to work alongside existing technical staff to maintain and support a range of audio and audiovisual facilities, liaise with external hirers prior to events, and actively support events to supply, set-up and operate technical equipment.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a relevant professional technical role and will have successfully completed a degree qualification in an area related to music technology, sound engineering or technical theatre. As is the nature of this type of position, the post-holder will be required to be flexible in their working and able to commit to a schedule that will include some unsocial hours.
