The School of Computing and Digital Technology (CDT) is seeking to appoint an undergraduate student to undertake a 12 month work placement to support its activities in the Digital Media Technology Centre. The successful candidate will have completed year two of a relevant degree with appropriate content to the role specification. The post will involve a range of activities that will include the management of the DMT activities within the CDT electronics laboratory, the demonstration of laboratory practices and academic support for undergraduate modules. The position will also support the DMT research lab in developing and disseminating research outputs both internally to CDT students within curriculum development and externally for example: Innovation Fest, conferences, open days and applicant visit days. The position will involve flexible working as required, including evenings and weekends. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be a student on a programme of study that is specific to the subject area although students from other CDT programmes who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge are welcome to apply. Strong technical, communication, problem solving and presentation skills will be advantageous for this role. A presentation will be required as part of the selection process.
