Description :

The current role is for a Research Assistant (RA) to support in the data collection and analysis of a funded project exploring the way in which Prison Officers cope and manage Occupational Stress. The project aims to investigate, through collating survey data and conducting a small number of interviews with Prison Officers, the current barriers they experience to accessing services to help manage the stressful events to which they are exposed. This project is hoped to support in the development of an intervention which is responsive to the unique occupational culture in which Prison Officers are employed; one which emphasises controlling emotional responses, and appears to promote a ‘tough’ and ‘macho’ image.

The post is subject to Ethical Approval from the Prison Service. As such, should this not be agreed, this position could be withdrawn.

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
