Working closely with other members of the operational procurement team, you will provide a high level of support to our diverse academic and research departments. Your main role will be to undertake the order processing activity including understanding customer needs, processing requisitions and expediting deliveries, paying supplier invoices and booking business travel. You will have effective numeracy, literacy and word processing skills and be able to present information relating to the progress of work.
You will be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will undergo training in procurement, travel and payments department learning to provide advice in accordance with the University's Financial Regulations. You need to be a team player and able to work with other colleagues in the wider Finance Division.
The apprentice role will have the opportunity to take the CIPS qualification, which will be supported by NEUPC and Leeds College as the training provider. The applicant will need to have achieved 5 GCSE’s grades A-C including English and Maths with 2 A levels or 2 years procurement experience. The training will take 20% of the working week starting in November 2018 for the duration of 2 years.
