Description :

Come and join our team at Lancaster University.

As a Chef Apprentice, we are looking for someone who already has experience of working in a professional kitchen but is eager to progress.

We are looking to further strengthen our team, with people who are used to working in a busy environment.

You will be working with our skilled team at Lancaster University and within the standards we set ourselves, in line with our Soil Association “Food for Life” accreditations.

We are seeking a passionate person with the drive to improve and deliver on the creative edge. As a Chef Apprentice, you will have the enthusiasm and drive to further develop your existing skills and creative ideas. We want somebody who has a love for working with fresh local produce.

The successful candidate must display initiative and self-reliance, but also be able to contribute to and work within a large, fast paced and successful team.

This is a chance for a chef with ambition to join our team - named University of the Year 2018 by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and Top ten in all three UK league tables; we score particularly highly for student satisfaction and employability.

The position is available as an apprenticeship with Lancaster and Morecambe College to gain a Level 3 Kitchen focused Hospitality Supervisor qualification with particular emphasis on menu planning and costing.

The Hospitality department has a diverse range of outlets and styles of catering across the campus, including catering for students, conferences, dinners, cafes and bars, restaurants, Graduation and Open/Visitor days.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
