Applications are invited for the above post based in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at University Park, Nottingham.This appointment will complement and strengthen the Faculty’s research and teaching activities in manufacturing engineering with specific focus on assembly automation and control.The research of the Faculty was highly ranked in the last research excellence framework, REF 2014.Candidates should have an established track record of independent research, a strong publication record and experience of developing successful proposals and applications for research funding. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience relevant to one or more of the following areas: flexible and reconfigurable assembly systems, informatics technologies in manufacturing, automation and control.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of teaching for the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses.He or she will also be expected to join the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Group and contribute high quality research.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in manufacturing engineering, automation and control or a related discipline.

We are looking for someone who can:

Undertake original research of international excellence in manufacturing systems. Publish research results in leading high quality internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.Contribute to the delivery of high quality teaching and learning within the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering.

Work in collaboration with others in adopting the Ethos and Principles of the Faculty of Engineering to improve the student experience and deliver high quality research and knowledge exchange.

These full-time posts will be available from September 2018 and will be offered on a permanent basis. Job share arrangements may be considered.
