The principal aim of these roles is to work with academics to support the development of Impact Case Studies (ICS). The ICS will form part of the University’s preparations for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission in 2020. Based in Research & Innovation Service (RIS) you will collaborate with academics, Impact Directors, Associate Deans for Research, staff in RIS and professional services to develop high quality Impact Case Studies for submission by the University to the next REF assessment in 2020. As such, the ideal candidate will have:

• excellent networking skills with a track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships across teams and disciplines internally and externally to your organisation.

• experience of conducting evidence reviews, evaluations (particularly impact evaluation) and developing and writing case studies.

• strong communications skills both verbal and written with evidence of successful business case and/or grant development.

• skills and attributes to coach and mentor others to identify and articulate the impact of their research.

• good working knowledge of research impact, Research Excellence Framework (REF) and higher education.

• experience of working in higher education and supporting their submission to the REF (although this is not essential) or who have demonstrable transferable skills.

Applications are invited for two posts, one of which we anticipate will be full time and the other part time (0.5fte) but we may consider alternative arrangements. Please state in your application your desired fte (minimum 0.5fte); this could be a range (eg 0.5 – 0.7 fte).
