The role

The post holder will be responsible for day to day operations of hard and soft FM, including, but not limited to managing business continuity legal compliance (ie asbestos, legionella).

Leadership for the maintenance and operation of the technical services on site, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance and ensuring that these services are fully integrated into new buildings and improvements to the existing estate.

Leadership for the soft FM operation including portering cleaning, landscape, post, telecoms and central stores.

Leadership for the delivery of planned maintenance projects, on time, on budget and to agreed quality specification

Accountability for ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with legislation, codes of practice, manufacturer’s recommendations, HSE recommendations and meets prescribed standards in the contract

The ideal candidate

Will have:

A degree in construction, project management or related discipline or equivalent depth of experienceChartered Engineer status or be a Fellow of Royal Institute of Chartered SurveyorsThe capability to establish a vision and strategy and be able to inspire others to work together to deliver themCreated and supported a positive team culture that values customer service and continuous improvementAn understanding of the link between their decisions and the commercial operation of the UniversityStrong evidence of successfully leading and delivering a variety of substantial and complex building and maintenance programmesDemonstrable skills that deliver multiple large scale and complex projects simultaneously on time, on budget and to agreed quality
