We are seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to be based in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath, who will support a GW4 Initiator funded project "A multi-stakeholder approach to medicines optimisation".  Medicines Optimisation is "the safe and effective use of medicines to enable the best possible outcomes”. The stakeholders of medicines optimisation are patients, public and clinicians (e.g. general practitioners, pharmacists, nurses), commissioners, policy makers and guideline developers. 

This is a 5-month project for which the researcher will be the ‘central’ person for the research team (which comprises academic from the Universities of Bath, Exeter, Bristol and Cardiff).  The RA will manage and contribute to: scoping reviews (under the direction and with support from the applicants) including the development and running of search strategies, screening of search results, synthesis of the findings and development of the draft manuscripts (to be submitted to a peer reviewed journal for publication); mapping of activity and methodological expertise of research team and external collaborators; the development of a formal consensus process (nominal group technique); and will provide logistical support in terms of arranging meetings (travel, venue, catering).

The post provides the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary, experienced, research team and more broadly with a wide range of stakeholders.  It is anticipated that the RA will co-author publications arising from this project.

This position is offered on a 5 month fixed term basis. The role is part time, 27.5 hours per week which equates to 0.75 FTE.
