Description :

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in supporting the organisation and delivery of the University of Bath’s Gold Scholarship Programme (GSP), which provides financial support and a comprehensive enrichment programme to University of Bath students from less advantaged backgrounds. This is an exciting and rewarding new role, established as part of the University’s Access & Participation Plan.

The GSP aims to ensure that its scholars are equipped with the funding, transferrable skills, knowledge, experience and social capital needed to maximise their University experience and to succeed in the graduate job market / postgraduate study. 50 new scholars join the programme each year, and participate in the programme until they graduate. The Gold Scholars are required to attend key events during the year and to complete volunteering hours and training requirements.

You will be one of the main points of contact for the Gold Scholars, communicating with them regularly to ensure continued engagement with the GSP and supporting them to meet their GSP training and volunteering targets. Working with the Scholarships and Bursaries Enrichment Manager, you will support the planning and coordination as well as the delivery of some of the key GSP events during the year.

You will be part of the Scholarships and Bursaries Team and you will work proactively on monitoring and evaluating the progression of scholarship and bursary recipients, and the impact of funding programmes, including the GSP.

You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and sympathetically. You will need to be proactive and problem solve but seek support when needed.  Strong IT, database and reporting skills will be necessary and experience in monitoring and evaluating projects will be highly valuable.

Although you will be based primarily in the Scholarships and Bursaries Team, you will work closely with many other teams across the University. You will be required to do some evening and weekend work as part of this role, for which time in lieu is provided.
