Are you a qualified clinical professional with experience of working in an Occupational Health department? Are you committed to providing a high performing and supportive Occupational Health, Wellbeing and Staff Counselling service? Are you a leader that can build and maintain effective relationships at a senior level to support and influence service standards?

The University of Leeds are seeking an experienced and forward thinking Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing to lead on the development and implementation of an exciting and challenging health agenda. The role will build on and drive a high effective health and wellbeing agenda across the institution collaborating with key stakeholders both internally and externally to provide expert support and advice on a range of health related activities.

The University has an ambitious strategic plan and the health of its staff is crucial in achieving these plans. You will take a lead role in raising the profile of Health and Wellbeing across the institution as well as building on the well-established activities around management referrals, travel medicine, staff counselling and psychological support. You will also work closely with key stakeholders supporting healthy week and our ambition plans to become a smoke free campus by July 2019. The post holder will be expected to bring a professional and enthusiastic approach to lead and further develop support to the University on a range of Health initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Health and Safety Services, the post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of a supportive in-house occupational health service, the provision of staff counselling and psychological support and a health and wellbeing team. You will provide strong leadership and be a key member of the Wellbeing, Safety and Health Service senior management team. You will ensure the provision of a timely, high quality effective and efficient service and provide support, advice and assistance to staff and users of the service.
