Print Buyer (CC6071)

The Imaging, Design & Print team at the University of Bath is looking to appoint a Print Buyer to co-ordinate the production and procurement of outsourced print items including the prospectus, brochures and leaflets, exhibition and display materials, direct mail and promotional products.

Used to working in a fast-paced environment, you will have responsibility for providing a full print procurement service to internal customers which includes creating technical specifications, obtaining quotations, negotiating costs and liaising with external suppliers eg printers, mailing houses, agencies, paper suppliers and creating accurate schedules and personalisation briefs.

The person that takes on this role needs to be highly organised and have the most amazing attention to detail, able to keep accurate records of workflow and a great communicator. It is a busy role and needs someone who will enjoy the quick turnaround and focused deadlines. You will be managing your own workload so an ability to motivate yourself and take ownership of your role is needed.

You will be used to keeping up with industry trends and be able to use your technical expertise to provide an advisory service to our internal clients.

You will have:
• In-depth knowledge of litho, digital and large format print, direct mail and promotional items.
• Good knowledge of procuring and specifying paper
• Good negotiating skills
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Demonstrable experience of delivering continuous improvements
• Excellent communication skills
• A positive, proactive and collaborative attitude to working
