Working within a team of technical staff, you will be responsible for routinely providing technical support for the Veterinary Pathology Centres laboratories, providing Clinical pathology and Histopathology Services in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey. You will provide technical support principally to pathologists, undergraduate Students and researchers.

Previous technical experience in Clinical pathology is desirable. Key to the role, you must have experience in scientific laboratory based practice to include maintaining and calibrating biochemical and haematological analysers and well histological processing. You will provide advice and solutions for routine day-to-day problems arising in your areas of expertise and make recommendations for improvements in the efficiency of the service.

Working within University guidelines and procedures, you will instruct and demonstrate safe working practices on the use of specialist equipment.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised technician to join the school of veterinary medicine, who is eager to learn new skills within pathology and who has a good understand of the importance of quality assurance within diagnostic services.
